The Small Things Fund is sustained by the hopes, dreams and aspirations of first generation students who inspire a community of givers. Funders are often first generation graduates themselves. Small, regular amounts, large ad hoc amounts… they all add up.
When a student is referred to The Small Things Fund, we offer two things: first line support, and access to our networks. The student is invited for a restaurant lunch, a conversation and a discretionary sum that is transferred immediately. The transaction is unconditional, and comes with no administration, no further questions, and no obligations.
Funders and students meet once at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. There we give thanks for our our opportunity to share, the privilege to know one another and the grace we all experience as we intentionally work towards the goals of the Fund.
